Bonjours et bienvenu à tous!
À la fin des années ’80 naissant l’idée de nos rencontres de famille. Avec les faits que grand-maman Marie-Louise nous avait quitté quelques années auparavant, l’éloignement de plusieurs et la vie qui file à une vitesse folle, la famille aurait fort bien pu ne devenir qu’un beau souvenir. Mais grâce à Camille at à Lorenzo un comité s’est mis en place et à l’été 1990 se tenait pour la première fois une rencontre de la famille de Marie-Louise et de Georges Sasseville.
Aujourd’hui nous en sommes à la 8ième rencontre. La famille a continué de grandir avec de nombreuses naissances at l’arrivée de nouveaux conjoints. Maintenir nos liens familiaux est toujours un défi mais les années nous confirment que c’est un succès.
Notre vœu à tous est certainement que ce beau projet continue sur sa lancée et qu’il y ait toujours quelqu’un pour porter le flambeau et prendre la relève et ce…au pluriel.
Félicitation à chacun et à chacune d’entre vous pour votre réponse enthousiaste à notre invitation. Votre participation au cours des années est le gage de notre réussite depuis 1990.
L’esprit de famille est la base de nos valeurs. Nos fêtes sont une belle accasion pour nous tous de revenir se ressourcer à nos racines, se rapprocher, se parler, partager dans ce lieu ou nos ancêtres ont vécu.
Comme le disait Georges Sasseville, notre père et grand-père: “Dans la vie le capital humain est l’avoir le plus précieux, il est irremplaçable.” Vous êtes irremplaçable, vous êtes une partie de nous.
Merci de savoir organiser vos agendas pour être présent à nos rendez-vous. C’est réconfortant et rassurant pour vos parents, oncles et tantes, d’une autre génération, de réaliser que la relève est là. Garder en vous ce bel esprit de famille qui vous honore. Transmettez le à vos enfants! Qu’il se fortifie de plus en plus.
Peu importe ou le destin vous a conduit, le retour sur ce patrimonie familial, en ce lieu ou nos grand-parents ont élevé une nombreuse famille dans le valeurs de foi, courage, loyauté, amour de travail bien fait, solidarité ne peut que vous apporter de bons souvenirs.
Merci d’être présent. Merci de votre attachement à la famille. Merci de continuer à vivre les valeurs de la famille. Merci de transmettre ces valeurs.
Et maintenant ayons une bonne pensée pour tous ceux qui nous ont quitté particulièrement pour Marie-Louise et Georges. Ne les oublions pas. De l’au-delà ils continuent tous de veiller sur nous.

Hi there everyone,
Once upon a time, a few years after grandmother Marie-Louise passed away, seeing that the whole family was branching out further and further away, and noticing that life was just zooming by at an incredible speed, Camille and Lorenzo decided to do something grand – so, after much brainstorming, they set out to form a committee to call back the troops for a great big bear hug.
It all came together for the first time in 1990 and a family tradition was born. A huge number of Marie-Louise Potvin and Georges Sasseville’s descendants heeded the call, and gathered together under one roof.
Fast forward to 2004. Now at the eve of our 8th family gathering, we are looking forward to seeing everyone again, meeting the new spouses, the new babies and marveling at how much the other children have grown. Keeping a tab on everyone is a huge challenge but the years have proved that it’s well worth it.
This year’s theme is unity and family spirit is at the core of our values: and these gatherings allow us to go back to our roots, meet each other again, share our lives and make new memories in a place where our ancestors walked and lived.
We would like to thank everyone for enthusiastically answering the invitation and we are grateful that since the first family bash in 1990, there is still a huge interest and attendance that prove to us that what we are doing is much appreciated.
My father and your grandfather, Georges Sasseville used to say: Investing in a human being is the most precious resource of all and it’s irreplaceable and that we are all part of one another. We are family!
I would like to thank all of you who have made specific plans to attend this reunion. It doesn’t matter where life leads us, returning to the site where our ancestors lived, laughed, cried, raised a huge family, showed faith, courage and loyalty can only bring good memories to those who are planning on having a good time.
It is the committee’s dearest wish that this great mission continues throughout the ages and that there will always be someone to carry the torch. I speak for your parents, aunts and uncles in saying that we encourage those who will be taking over this undertaking, and that everyone always keep deep within their heart the knowledge of how important it is to be a close-knit family. This feeling honours us all and by sharing in it, you will preach by example for one day your children will take over after you.
Thank you for attending, for believing in maintaining a solid family unit, for sharing and living moral ethics that we all do our best to upkeep.
And now in memory of all those who have left us, and particularly Marie-Louise and Georges from whom we are all descendants, let there be joy in knowing that they keep looking out for us from the great beyond and are with us in spirit for the blessedness and sacredness of this wonderful event.
To each and everyone that is connected to this family by blood, by marriage or adoption, remember:
Let the family unit be your cornerstone!
Again on behalf of the committee, we look forward to seeing you at the end of July. In the meantime, have fun and don’t forget, we want to hear all about it.
